So was it now 26 dead? The paramedics talked of exploding bullets, and certainly one man’s head had been half blown away. His face was unrecognisable.

Saudi Mufti names calls Jihad in Syria 'a betrayal of state and homeland'

A Saudi palace court "mufti", Abdul-Azeez ibn Abdullaah Aal ash-Shaikh, said that the calls for Jihad in Syria are to be considered as a kind of "betrayal against the state", according to Saudi press, in particular the leading and authoritive newspapers Al-Eqtisadiah and Al-Watan (offices in Dammam and Riyadh), cited by UmmaNews.

In his Friday sermon last week, which took place in the mosque of Imam Turki bin Abd al-Aziz, Aal ash-Shaikh spoke about all kinds of "treasons" and "betrayals".

Touching the issue of commercial and banking transactions, the "mufti" drew attention to Syria. According to him, the desire of young people to enter the jihad may be regarded as a "treason" to the Saudi regime.

"Yesterday, in his Friday sermon in the mosque of Imam Turki ibn Abd-al-Aziz in Riyadh, the mufti said that among there were those who betrayed their community and country by inciting people to take action that leads to humiliation and difficulties for their own country. He explained that these were the people who incite the youth to join the Jihad, and that they did not know the consequences and dangers awaiting", writes Al-Eqtisadiah".

For its part, Al-Watan adds that, according to Aal ash-Shaikh, the calls for Jihad separate the "pastor" (i.e., the king) from the "flock", and this, they say, is a real "betrayal".

It is to be recalled that a few weeks ago, most prominent palace scholars, including "mufti" Abdul-Azeez Salih Fevzan, visited the palace of king Abdullah in Riyadh, where they met senior Saudi officials. The meeting was filmed on a video and photographed.

At the meeting, the king offered to execute those calling Muslims to Jihad in neighboring Arab countries.

"It is unfortunate that there are some people who are exposing youth to danger, and prison sentences are not enough for them. These people want to lure children and lead them astray", said Abdullah, addressing the meeting of palace scholars.

"I think they deserve a severe punishment", Arab News quoted the Saudi king saying.

Not long ago, the Saudi palace "mufti", Abdul-Azeez Aal ash-Sheikh, urged Arabian Muslim youth not to join the Mujahideen in Syria because "it is unknown under which banner they are fighting". Aal ash-Sheikh said that "it would be better" to send money to Syrian Muslims or just "make a prayer".

It is to be noted, that everybody long knows that the banner under which the Mujahideen are fighting in Syria is a black flag with the words "La ilaha illa-Allah/There is no God but Allah". That is not news.

Meanwhile, in another interesting development. the Saudi regime supported a democratic group called "Syrian National Council (SNC)" which was condemned by all Syrian Mujahideen.

The Saudis supported the group twice: first, in November 2012 a SNC gathering, and then in March 2013б within the framework of an Arab League gathering.

Riyadh called Syrian pro-western democrats, who are supported by America, Britain and France, "the only legitimate representatives of the Syrian people".

Syrian forces 'using chemical weapons near Damascus'

PARIS (AFP) -- French newspaper Le Monde reported Monday that the Syrian army is using chemical weapons against rebel forces in the outskirts of Damascus, quoting two of its journalists who were in the area in April and May.

The journalists "witnessed over several consecutive days" the use of explosive chemical weapons and their effects on rebel fighters in the village of Jobar on the outskirts of the capital, reporter Jean-Philippe Remy wrote.

Photographer Laurent Van der Stockt reported that on April 13 he saw fighters "suffocating and vomiting" in the area after an apparent attack using chemical weapons.

Le Monde said the photographer also suffered blurred vision and breathing problems for four days after the attack.

The journalists said they had gathered witness accounts of the use of chemical weapons in a large area around Damascus.

"In two months spent in the area of the Syrian capital, we encountered similar cases across a much larger region," Le Monde wrote.

"The seriousness of the cases, their increasing frequency and the tactic of using such weapons show that not simply tear gas is being used, but another class of products that are much more toxic."

One doctor in a rebel-held area told the newspaper that the weapons caused breathing difficulties, headaches and nausea, and could cause death if victims were not treated.

"The gases are used on the front on an ad hoc basis, avoiding widespread use that would easily provide irrefutable evidence," Remy wrote.

A top UN envoy said Wednesday there are "mounting reports" of the use of chemical weapons in Syria and called on Damascus to let in UN investigators.

Jumlah calon: 1231 orang
Jumlah datang ujian : 1140 (91 tak hadir ujian bacaan )
Jumlah tidak lulus : 42 orang.

Hanya 3.4% sahaja yang gagal ujian. Nama calon yang gagal tidak diumumkan berdasarkan kesepakatan demi tidak memalukan calon, juga sebagai muhasabah diri, cuma gugur kelayakan menjadi calon wakil rakyat.


Ratusan calon legislatif di Kota Langsa, Provinsi Aceh, mengikuti tes membaca Alquran. Tes ini merupakan syarat wajib yang harus diikuti para calon anggota dewan.


Komisi Independen Pemilihan (KIP) Aceh mengumumkan hasil tes uji baca Al-Quran bagi bakal calon legislator (caleg) Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Aceh (DPRA) untuk Pemilu 2014, pada Selasa, 30 April 2013. Sebanyak 42 caleg dinyatakan tak lulus.

"Mereka tidak mampu mencapai angka minimal 50 untuk syarat lulus," kata Ketua Pokja Tes Baca Al-Quran KIP Aceh, Akmal Abzal. Ketentuan tes tersebut di Aceh sesuai dengan amanah Undang-Undang Nomor 11 Tahun 2006 tentang Pemerintahan Aceh.



Menurut Akmal, ada 1.231 caleg yang ikut tes selama tiga hari, 27-29 April 2013. Dari jumlah itu, sebanyak 91 orang tidak hadir mengikuti tes. "Berarti ada 1.140 caleg yang ikut tes," ujarnya.

Dari 42 yang tidak lulus, sebanyak 39 caleg berasal dari Partai Nasional dan hanya tiga orang yang berasal dari partai lokal di Aceh. Ada empat partai yang meluluskan semua calegnya untuk berhak ikut dipilih dalam perebutan kursi DPRA, 2014 mendatang. Akmal menolak menyebutkan nama-nama caleg dan partai sesuai dengan kesepakatan bersama.
Tes baca Al-Quran di Aceh dilakukan oleh dewan juri dari kalangan ulama dan pemuka agama. Setiap calon hanya membutuhkan nilai minimal 50 untuk syarat lewat, dari beberapa kategori penilaian, seperti tajwid, fasahah, dan adab.
Kata Akmal, mereka yang tidak hadir akan diberikan kesempatan kedua mengikuti tes pada 9-22 April. Itu pun mereka harus mampu menunjukkan alasan yang benar kenapa berhalangan hadir. "Kalau alasannya tidak kuat atau berbohong, akan gugur dengan sendirinya," ujarnya

Kerajaan Negeri Selangor Sediakan Insentif Perkahwinan

Hanya kepada belia-belia sahaja...

SHAH ALAM, 16 DIS: Kerajaan Negeri Selangor akan menyediakan insentif perkahwinan kepada belia-belia Negeri Selangor yang mendirikan rumahtangga pada tahun hadapan.

Belia Selangor yang memenuhi syarat yang dijangka diumumkan tidak lama lagi bakal menerima RM 200 sumbangan dari Kerajaan Negeri.

Selain itu, mereka yang terlibat dalam program insentif perkahwinan ini juga bakal ditawarkan program perumahan yang dijalankan oleh Kerajaan Negeri.

Pengumuman tersebut dibuat Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim ketika melancarkan Majlis Perkahwinan Belia Mengikut Adat Resam Melayu Negeri Selangor yang diadakan di pentas utama Selangor Agrofest 2012, perkarangan Stadium Shah Alam hari ini.

“Insentif itu kita tak dapat mulakan kali ini sebab ia menggunakan peruntukan dari Belanjawan 2013 baru-baru ini, sebab itu kita mulakan mulai 1 Januari 2013.

“Dalam program itu juga nanti, Kerajaan Negeri akan membiayai dengan konsep perkongsian,” ujar Abdul Khalid.

Program yang dianjurkan Exco Adat Melayu, Belia dan Sukan itu meraikan 61 pasang pengantin dari seluruh Selangor yang mengadakan majlis mereka bertemakan adat resam Melayu Selangor.

Kos bagi pakaian dan majlis bagi setiap pasangan dibiayai sepenuhnya oleh Kerajaan Negeri.

Sementara itu, pengumuman Abdul Khalid itu mendapat reaksi positif dari beberapa pasangan pengantin yang ditemui TV Selangor.

“Pengumuman Tan Sri Abdul Khalid tadi betul-betul membuatkan kami terharu dan bangga kerana program ini dapat mengurangkan kos perkahwinan sebab belanja perkahwinan begitu tinggi dengan cara ini dapat meringankan beban.

“Saya sebagai warga Selangor, mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih atas sumbangan dan penghargaan Kerajaan Negeri dengan mengadakan majlis ini,” ujar Hizami Burhanuddin dan pasangannya Ilyna Mohd Ghazali dari Klang.

Abdul Kahar Ahmad Marwai dan Siti Sara Azraie dari Kampung Delik Klang pula berpendapat majlis tesebut wajar diteruskan bagi menggalakkan masyarakat mengamalkan kesederhanaan dalam mengadakan majlis perkahwinan.

“Dapat meringankan beban kewangan sebab lepas ini kalau sebelah pihak perempuan atau pihak lelaki tak nak buat kenduri lagi pun tak apa, sebab dah selesai dah, yang penting akad nikah,” Abdul Kahar berkata.

Antara adat perkahwinan tradisi Melayu yang diketengahkan, termasuklah persembahan pencak silat, kompang dan bunga telur.

Pasangan juga ditrampilkan di dalam busana tradisional rakyat Selangor iaitu pakaian sikap Selangor yang dikenakan pengantin lelaki serta kebaya labuh yang digayakan pengantin perempuan.
