Colorful Floating Lamp Design - Floating Jellyfish

Like a jellyfish lit up and floating in space, this hanging lamp design by Kristin Birna Bjarnadottir combines elegance with a colorful mystery about how it is suspended. The designer intended to make something that was a blend of magical, surreal, reflective and romantic – all rolled into a single hanging light design.

The lamp itself is made from the kind of highly reflective safety cloth normally seen in safety apparel. This material, used on the lamp shade and decorative dangling strings below, draws attention to itself and away from the ultra-thin fishing line from which the light fixture is suspended.

An LED light unit illuminates the entire light from below. Colored red, violet, blue and/or brown disks are set on the light to change its color and the shade above spreads the light according to various pattern options.

Despite the relative simplicity of its execution this design is, in fact, quite complex – involving alternative light sources, variable colors and patterns and a series of special effects that set it apart from a standard store-bought lamp or light fixture.

The World's First 4 Sim Cell Phone

Flying F160 Quad SIM Phone

This Flying F160 is the world’s first Quad SIM card, quad standby mobile phone. Quite why you’d need four SIM cards in your phone is another matter, although I suppose for permanent travelers this could save a bunch of time swapping out cards when you cross a border.

The rest of the spec is pretty so-so, with a 2 inch touchscreen, TV & FM radio, 0.3 mp camera and a choice of colors. Priced, however, at a very reasonable $75.00 unlocked. Great product name, eh?

Who needs a quad SIM phone? Frequent travelers, people who want different numbers for work and personal life, and…let’s face it…people with lots and lots of extramarital affairs and general pimps of the nation. The F160 uses four GSM cards. As a a fully unlocked quad band phone, you can use the Flying F160 to make calls anywhere in the world. Typing messages is quick and easy with the QWERTY keyboard, and navigating through menus is a breeze with the 2.0″ touch screen.

Kelemahan Sistem Kad Kredit bernombor pin

Saintis buktikan kelemahan nombor PIN

- Agensi

British banks try to censor research

Cambridge student exposes flaw in chip and PIN technology

A Cambridge University professor has come to the defense of a student whose research exposed a flaw in debit card chip and PIN technology. In his master’s thesis, computer science student Omar Choudary demonstrated how chip and PIN technology, intended to make cards more secure, can be overridden with a simple device.

“When the card is inserted into a chip and PIN machine at a till, the device uses electronics to ensure the card is accepted,” the Daily Mail reported.

Former Labour Treasury Minister Melanie Johnson, who now chairs the UK Cards Association, requested that Cambridge’s press office remove the research from its website.

Ross Anderson, one of Choudary’s advisors, told Johnson that “It’s not the PR department who decides what gets published at a university.”

He added that “Censoring writings that offend the powerful is offensive to our deepest values.” -oncampus.macleans.ca
