Globally, markets are witnessing an accelerated uptake of green technology and eco products. The enthusiasm of the populace is further complemented by the government's policies and regulations, such as the Feed in Tariff scheme (FiT) which is managed by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), a statutory body under the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA). Themed "Greentech for Growth", the 3rd International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM2012) aims to help push the rapid adoption of green technology to deliver a double impact of sustainable economic growth as well as to address the environmental and energy security issues.
Having achieved its foothold as the largest green exhibition in the region, IGEM2012 will continue its pursuit to gather like-minded industry players and professionals from various sectors, public and private, big and small, local and foreign, new as well as established, to explore and seize the opportunities from the exciting and emerging green market in the country and the region.
To spur on fast track growth of Green Technology for sustainable consumption and production, IGEM2012 brings the dynamism of renewable energy, energy efficiency and green transportation for adoption and start-ups, while providing an essential platform to launch, feature and showcase innovative eco-products, green technologies and services. Objective

Based on the desire to promote and commercialize green technology for growth, the objectives of IGEM2012 are:
  • To create awareness amongst consumers and industry players on the importance of Green Technology and Eco Products for sustainable consumption and production;
  • To generate commercial opportunities for industry players in Green Technology and Eco Products for sustainable consumption and production to improve eco-efficiency for economic growth;
  • To promote green purchasing or procurement and greening the supply chain in addressing environmental issues, including the reduction of CO2 emission;
  • To showcase latest innovative and creative Green Technology and services, eco-products and initiatives;
  • To facilitate in the establishment of green standards, certification and legislation;
  • To encourage partnerships in Green Technology, eco-design and eco-materials for achieving international competitiveness and green growth;
  • To foster the development of eco-prenuership and green economy; and
  • To promote Malaysia as a regional green economic hub for Green Technology, Eco Products and services.

  1. Very good, I hope the Government and Private sector could organize more about Greentech exhibition, we must do more encouraging about Green Technology, to improve the perception of the people.
